Proferrin Forte is a Dietary Iron Supplement, Made in the USA by Colorado Biolabs, Inc. Each Tablet contains 12mg of Elemental Iron as Proferrin Heme Iron Polypeptide and 1mg of Folic Acid. Heme Iron Polypeptide (HIP) is a natural form of iron derived from an animal source. It is intended for individuals seeking to maintain normal iron levels. HIP has a unique absorption pathway reducing interference with other nutrients and is not significantly impared by hypochlorhydria or PPi use, nor by calcium, coffee, tea, whole grains or dairy. HIP does not require Vitamin C for absorption. Recommended Use: Take one tablet up to three times daily, with food. Proferrin FORTE should be stored at room temperature. Heme Iron Polypeptide should be discontinued for at least 3 days prior to and 3 days during a hemoccult stool test. Note: the newer FIT test does not require discontinuation of Heme Iron Polypeptide.
